FEEDBACK

A close-up photo of a large, old loudspeaker placed on top of a metallic ledge.

DJ Hadoken Exlamparaaghis has this to say:

Quotes from the latest update on that well-known pop culture site:

“The ‘property’ still resonates with me, but the period where it was sacrosanct has been over for a while.
The depredations it has faced at...”

And,

“You are, of course, intimately familiar with the Clone Wars series they air on the Cartoon Network.
Indeed...”

WTF, “sacrosanct”? THE Cartoon Network? Intimately familiar with Clone Wars? Depredations?

Who the heck talks like that? Who the heck uses that kind of vocabulary when talking about STAR WARS? Geez.

Talk about a loaded ego... geez, the internet is just going down the drain. To think, people check these sites RELIGOUSLY. Sometimes MULTIPLE times a day.

These sites with these mega-nerds commanding these hordes of mini-nerds in their quest for ultimate nerddom. And of course, the non-nerds just follow whoever the Lord of the Blogs and MySpace may be... (Maybe it’s the same guy? They just don’t know it).

Geez, you think for a second, “Hey, maybe this guy is pretty smart,” but then you realize, “Oh, he’s trying to sound intellectual by talking about the Star Wars franchise.”

So instead of just saying, “I like Star Wars and I know a lot about Clone Wars,” he decides to assert his giant nerdballs by using words that any normal person would never think of associating with that franchise.

Now, I can’t say that I am not a nerd as well, but I definitely know better than to try to sound like a crazy Sigmund Freud when talking about something like Super Eurobeat.

And I know that there are a bunch of people out there, eating their Doritos and drinking their soda, who I bet pretend to understand what this guy is saying. Que p*teria!

“Dave Rodgers’ songs are sacrosanct to me. They resonate within me, indeed, I am intimately familiar with all his work,” WTF.

Someone do me a favor and dastardly deed me if I ever start talking like that.

Esto no pasa en Cuba!

BlindPanzer comments:
I find DJ Hadoken’s latest update to the website worthless and hypocritical.

Who is the bigger nerd? The one who writes the blogs / reports? Or the one who actually goes to the website enough to complain?

Maybe DJ Hadoken hasn’t realized that this guy JUST might be smart. Could there not be that possibility?

Why even spend time writing 5 paragraphs on how THEY ARE WRONG? Isn’t that “egotistical” enough already?

Alas, I leave you with this final thought...

You can tune a piano but you can’t tune a fish.

I’m not hating on you, DJ Hadoken, by the way.

BlindPanzer comments again:
I’m not trying to be an ass, but that’s just the thoughts that came to me as I read the update...

So much for the first amendment, right?

You are more than welcome to make a thread called, “IN HOW MANY WAYS DOES BLINDPANZER SUCK?” and while I wouldn’t welcome it, I would refute the arguments.

So do likewise, DJ Hadoken. Tell me how I’m wrong.... I’m not trying to flame, rather create some civilized discourse.

DJ Hadoken Exlamparaaghis responds:
I get what you mean, I think you are trying to say that I am saying people are lame for visiting that site, yet I myself visit it all the time.

But the thing is, I really don’t go to that site much or others like that specifically because I think they are stupid and because people like that guy post lame stuff. I usually only go when someone sends me a link to them.

And I don’t think you really understood what I was writing. Because I wasn’t trying to prove anybody right or wrong. I was just stating that I thought it was stupid. Not much more depth to it than that.

Who knows, maybe the guy is actually smart, though I doubt it. It’s just a personal thing, but I think talking in such a manner about a frivolous topic like Star Wars is rude and condescending at times. Unless you are doing it on purpose to be funny, then that’s different.

And I leave you with one final thought as well:

At midnight, the hoodlum sells cotton candy by the ounce, not by the gram.

So visiting a site multiple times is stupid? That’s news to me.

This is from the guy who put on his own website a ridiculous Bob Sapp tribute, among other things... I could go one by one, but why bother? Just go to the FEATURES section on the RIA website.

Am I saying all of them are stupid? No.. well, maybe just the Bob Sapp one.. but most people outside our circle of friends would agree that the content of the RIA website is stupid.

So I think that you are in no position to call other people who visit certain websites stupid, when the same thing can be argued about ourselves.

OK. By you calling it stupid, you are already rendering their opinions as either flawed or not right. By giving your opinion, you make the assumption that YOU ARE CORRECT, thus it being an OPINION.

So in a definition sense, YES, you are saying they are wrong and you are RIGHT.

I doubt you can judge them just because they use bigger words to describe something they like... It might come natural when the topic of Star Wars comes out... or maybe since he is the webmaster, he tries making a formal statement to maybe make the others who visit it follow suit..

Who knows why...? For them, it might not be condescending.

In the same token we can judge many things you have created within the RIA website. Your “tributes” border on being tributes to lamesters (even if you do insinuate that it’s done on purpose...) as well as making whole articles on insignificant things like West Side Story recreations...

DJ Hadoken Exlamparaaghis comments:
Dude, you really don’t understand what I was saying in the update.

You’re taking everything out of context here. And by your logic, you’d be a lamester for looking at Batman pictures all the time.

And you are also kind of going against your own argument, because by the same degree, the Star Wars guy is a lamester for being so crazy about Star Wars.

And you keep saying I am trying to prove something, when I really am not. An opinion is an opinion, it’s not an argument.

Though you did have a point that maybe he just talks like that in order to set an example for his visitors. But it’s still a little extreme for Star Wars, I think.

Anyway, you’re taking this WAY too seriously, buddy.

DJ Hadoken Exlamparaaghis comments again:
Somehow, I get the feeling that you are just doing this to try to get me to update the site again sooner.

Yes, you WOULD have a point there if you were criticizing me for having hypocritical comments about others... but this is about your comments =] I’m not the one calling others stupid.

Are you saying you agree with DJ Hadoken or me?

The Funk Mistress responds back:
I don’t really care one way or the other. I just like it when boys kiss with their danger zones.

DJ Hadoken Exlamparaaghis comments:
She probably agrees with me, seeing as how I am right and you are wrong. And you are a little rascal.

Yeah, like from the TV show. What did you think I meant?

I touch myself while looking at www.riafunk.com.

So do I!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am intimately familiar of what you are talking about and the depredations you may have faced from it, but the period where it was sacrosanct has been over for a while. I’ll see you later as I will now go see what’s on the Cartoon Network.

RockRanger responds:
Why don’t u Mazinger get a real account with this hype Mazinger forum, so u don’t have to keep using those lame Mazinger anonymous or lame ass guest names?

DJ Hadoken Exlamparaaghis comments:
Well, it might be better that they don’t sign up. Because a lot of people sign up and then they never post again.. I think if the same person posts again then maybe they should think about making an account.
