Chapter 3

Early in the afternoon, the plane touched down in Fairmount Regional Airport. Before they got off the plane, a little old lady spoke to the new students.

“Fairmount Academy welcomes you. And if you will in an orderly fashion, exit the plane, and get on the buses.”

The students exit the plane, and they got into 4 different buses waiting for them near the plane.

Their bags were transfered from the plane into the buses. Travis and Jim were sitting together in the first bus, while their sister was in the last one.

They were drinking sodas, and just laughing, and having fun when the guy sitting next to them spoke to them and said, “Hi, my name is Michael, what is yours?”

“My name is Travis, and next to me is my brother Jim,” Travis responded.

“So, you guys excited of the starting of school?”

“No, you got be kidding, we got dreadful uniforms, and I heard the school is worse!” Jim responded.

“Are you looking forward to the school start?” Travis asked.

“Well, sort of, I just hate the uniform, and I don’t know about the rules,” Michael responded.

The bus ride took another hour or so. They arrive to Fairmount Academy late in the afternoon. As they exited, each one of them were handed their bags and taken to the newcomer’s room.

Fairmount was an old looking structure. It was gothic type of school. It had tall towers around it. There were 7 resident halls, a football field, indoor skating center, a pool, a rifle range where the rifle team practice, a skiing track, and lacrosse field.

When everybody was file in, the dean of students spoke.

“Welcome to Fairmount Academy.”

“Your books for your classes has been place in your rooms already with class schedules and community work schedule. Your classes start tomorrow.”

“Community work?” Michael shouted.

“Yes, and it will rotate your duties daily. But after dinner, you will be assigned to cleanup the dining room.”

“There will be consequences for every single one of your actions.”

“Coming in late to class, it’s warning and then a detention. Sleeping and talking in detention will result in 3 administrative detention and a caning. And fighting being in a girls room or vice versa, etc., you will get suspended.”

“But beside those consequences your resident hall advisor can give you campus restriction such as that you may not move out of campus or have visitors. A resident hall restriction means that you may not move out of your hall except for class and dinner. And a room restriction the same thing as hall restriction, but you may not move out of your room. If you violate the restriction you will get resident community service where you shall be required to fulfill a community service to either your hall or to the community.”

“Your hall check-in is at 7:00 P.M. for the start of your study hall. 10:00 P.M. for the night check in. And 10:30 P.M. for the lights out.”

“Your classes start at 8:00 A.M.”

“Enough rules. Have fun and enjoy your time here in Fairmount.”
