Original Young Adult Science Fiction
Created by DJ Hadoken Exlamparaaghis
This is a character description of
that utilizes Lajos Egri's tri-dimensional approach.
Physiology
1. Sex: Male
2. Age: 60
3. Height and weight: 5’ 9” about 160 lbs.
4. Hair, eyes, skin: Quite large, puffed out, shaggy gray hair, blue eyes, light skin.
5. Posture: Very good posture for a man of 60, though his body language is beginning to reflect his increasing age.
6. Appearance: The signs of aging began late in his life, though have lately begun to take their toll. He tends to wear his white lab coat everywhere he goes. Although his hair is graying, he takes great pride in keeping a rather long, black mustache. He also wears quite large sunglasses he fashioned for himself to improve his vision.
7. Defects: He has very poor vision without his glasses and also a very poor sense of smell.
8. Heredity: He inherited a very calm and patient demeanor from his mother. And though it is not overtly apparent in Dr. Lightborg, he inherited a hardworking nature from his father.
Sociology
1. Class: Middle class. He receives funding for most of his research through various political groups and various donations.
2. Occupation: Scientist or, more specifically, Chief Engineer of the Planet Mars.
He works long hours doing research on various subjects. He receives a small salary from the government. He has become a significant contribution to the research of new technology on the planet. He loves his work, and does not let the small pay deter him.
3. Education: Graduated at the top of his class from the most prestigious engineering school on Mars. His favorite subjects were anything that related to either engineering or biology. He also loved physics. Home economics and art were his worst subjects.
4. Home life: Dr. Lightborg’s parents passed away many years ago. They died simply of age. He grew up in a very peaceful home on Mars. Their income was not very high. His father loved his mother very much. He was a simple Martian salesman and was proud to send his son to a prestigious Martian engineering school. They were able to afford it because of scholarships Dr. Lightborg had earned.
His parents rarely argued and encouraged their son at a young age to read and study anything that interested him. They tried their best to provide him with books and new material to study. His father was also quite respected in his community and was frequently elected to be the leader of many community events.
After graduating from the Martian engineering school, Dr. Lightborg married and had a daughter named Virginia. A few years later, his wife died while giving birth to their son.
Dr. Lightborg moved to Earth to conduct research after he learned of the mass disappearance of humans on the planet. Though he was not aware at the time, the humans had disappeared because an evil robot began to summon zombies and used these zombies to assimilate most of the humans on Earth. Most of the zombies then quickly left the planet. Dr. Lightborg moved to Earth with his daughter, while his son remained in school on Mars.
His daughter fell in love with an Earthling named Raphael Thunderleaf and eventually married him. Shortly afterwards, a badly beaten Raphael returned to Dr. Lightborg’s laboratory with Virginia, who was near death after having been attacked by one of the few zombies that remained on the planet.

Dr. Lightborg now lives alone waiting for their return.
5. Race: Martian (in this particular universe, Martians are also humans).
6. Religion, nationality: Dr. Lightborg is not a very religious man and subscribes to the teachings of science. Regarding nationality- because the population of Mars is relatively small, anyone from the planet is simply a citizen of Mars.
7. Place in community: He is a very well-known, respected scientist on Mars. He has many friends in politics, however, they tend to only look to him for his opinion, not his advise.
8. Political affiliations: Mars maintains a democratic government. Dr. Lightborg remains a friend of the major parties of Mars. He desires to keep healthy relationships with all parties in order to receive funding.
9. Amusements, hobbies: Dr. Lightborg loves reading. He loves physics. He also believes in a scientific approach to the super natural. Perhaps as a means of coping, he developed a fondness for stuffed animals after his wife’s death. He also has an unusual taste for heavy metal music. He finds that it helps him to open his mind and relax.
10. Time period: The year is X4. It is an indeterminate “future” basically. In this universe, Earth has colonized Mars and has granted it independence.
Psychology
Though his hopes came true, the relationship that Virginia fell into has turned into something he would have never imagined. Though the circumstances are dire, his yearning for knowledge and understanding provide him with strength.
2. Personal premise, ambition: His premise has always been that only thorough research can bring about progress. After learning the fate of Earth, his ambition has turned to developing a method to return lost souls to their bodies. His desire to return his daughter’s soul to her body is also his redemption for his wife’s death.
3. Frustrations: His frustration stems from long periods of research that seem to yield no progress. Though he holds to his premise, he tends to become impatient when the pressure is high. Especially now, because Virginia’s situation has become his most difficult challenge.
4. Temperament: Very calm and patient. He is also very loving and understanding. His many years of studying have also led him to become a very wise mentor to many.
5. Attitude toward life: He believes that all life is precious and that life transcends physical death. Though not religious, he believes all life is tied to the stars and planets.
6. Complexes: He is deeply afraid of failure. Though he never speaks of it, it haunts him incessantly. He has not forgiven himself for the passing of his wife. He is regretful and believes he could have saved her somehow. This fear has begun to increasingly interfere with his latest work. He believes he may fail once again and lose his daughter completely.
7. Extrovert, introvert, ambivert: Dr. Lightborg is introvert. When he speaks, those who listen can tell that what he says has been very well thought out. He thoroughly weighs every option before making decisions. He is very observant of nature and people, and uses his observations to formulate new theories to research.
8. Abilities: He is very talented at solving complex physics and mathematics problems. He can read very rapidly and has good retention.
9. Qualities: Though he may not always have the best judgment and may sometimes make mistakes, his strong belief in progress and scientific methodology allow him to learn from error.
10. I.Q.: His I.Q. is relatively high, though he tries to remain on a common level with those he speaks with.
