Don't put bells on your animals

DJ Benvenuto the Raccoon II (With the Funny Hat) has this to say:

Hello out there.

Hopefully someone is reading this and if someone is then good. I don’t have anything substantial today just a couple of random things I thought I’d post about.

A few weeks ago a cat managed to sneak itself into my house. At first I thought it was a stray but it turned out that it belonged to my neighbor from across the street. Since then it has managed to sneak itself into my house a few more times and I have kicked it out every time.

However, the point of this story is not that but the fact that this cat has these little bells on its collar.

They constantly make noise at the slightest movement and whenever I hear bells I know the cat must be trying to run into my house while I’m taking out the trash or checking the mail.

The bells on the collar started to make me think how horribly annoying that must be.

Imagine.

One morning, you wake up with a collar around your neck and a pair of tennis ball sized bells attached to that collar.

Let’s also assume that for some reason you cannot remove that collar. Perhaps it will explode if you try to remove it, like in X-Men.

Every time you stand up or sit down or take a step or jump or turn your head the bells start ringing. Your dreams of being a ninja would pretty much go out the window.

It would be so horribly annoying that you’d seriously consider yanking the collar off regardless of the explosion.

People at school would call you the bell kid and they would hear you coming down the hall before you are even close enough to be seen.

Forget about playing sports. You would be making so much noise no one would want to play with you.

Little kids would think you’re some sort of elf or reindeer.

Do you realize what a life altering thing this bell collar would be?

It’s a good thing that cat doesn’t have to deal with those problems even though it has the bells around its neck.

The only problem I can think of is that it probably can’t catch as many pigeons as it would otherwise.

So people, don’t put bells on your animals.

It’s just aggravating.
