Sauron KILLS Frodo when he’s trying to throw the ring into Mt. Doom, but Frodo falls into the fire anyway, and with the ring too.
Then Gandalf ends up marrying Arwen after Aragorn dies fighting the Nazgul.
Then the men of Gondor find out that Gollum has the blood of Númenor in him and he becomes the King of the Men.
And then Gimli and Legolas end up spending the rest of their days together in Rohan.
Pirate ships full of dead men come in and save the day in Gondor but Aragorn dies anyway.
At the very end, Merry and Sam have hairy hobbit dirty deeds. Well, not really but Tolkien implies it.
