A cold wind was coming through the open windows of a classroom in the Kilmakaro central educational institute. I was falling sleep since the philosophy class bored me. I tried picture myself with my friends rolling down the green hills north of the city. I slowly closed my eyes and lowered my head to my desk, and felled at sleep.
“Theodus Koldimus, wake up!” the teacher screamed. “This is 3rd time this week, you been sleeping. Senator Koldimus won’t be very pleased when I tell him.”
“Sorry, Madame Jikalous, I promise won’t be sleeping again.”
“See me after class, Theodus.”
“Yes, Madame Jikalous.”
Teacher turned to the board revealing her large white hair, and continued writing the basic principles of philosophy.
She asked us to open up the book, and start reading. The annoying sound of her voice, made me want fall sleep again, but I couldn’t so tried force myself to keep awake by looking at the paintings of the dark forest on the ceiling of the classroom.
As I finish looking at the ceiling, I caught glimpse of the sky outside, and that saw the sun was coming down that meant the school was over for the day. Going home wasn’t something I looked forward to, today especially just the thought of hearing screaming of my Father wasn’t pleasant thought.
A few minutes later, Madame Jikalous dismissed the class. As I walked pass her desk, she looked at me with her intimidating black eyes, and told me: “Theodus, stay right there.”
“Yes, Madame,” I responded.
Madame Jikalous took out piece of parchment, wrote something on it with her quill. She sealed the piece of parchment and gave to me. As she gave to me, she told me: “Don’t show up tomorrow if that piece of parchment don’t have Senator Koldimus signature.”
“Yes, Madame.”
I ran out of the building, and into the cobblestone streets of the Kilmakaro, the vendors in the street selling foods, meat and vegetables. I walked through streets avoiding getting into the center of Kilmakaro near the senatorial chambers to avoid bumping into Father.
I walked the long way home by the backstreets avoiding the center of the town, and the places where I know Father frequents after the senatorial chamber is done for day.
After long walk through the marketplaces, and cobblestones streets, I arrived to my villa in the secluded neighborhood near the center of Kilmakaro.
I opened the door to my villa, quickly got in. The candles were all lighted in the house, and the smell of fried deer with apple contaminated the air.
I proceed to my sleeping quarters avoiding my sister, my mother and the servants. My noisy sister came into my room few minutes later. Without knocking she just walked in.
Athena Koldimus, my sister, was in same school as me. She had black hair and black intimidating eyes. She wears white toga with gold and silver stripes.
“So, Theodus what happen in Philosophy?” she asked me.
“I know you got in trouble.”
“It’s none of your business Athena, what I do in school.”
“Only Mother and Father should be concern about it not you.”
“Well, Theodus how about if I call Mother and tell her that you got in trouble with Madame Jikalous.”
“You won’t dare,” I told her.
“Just watch me,” and she headed for the door but before she had chance to open the door, I grabbed her by her toga and threw back against the floor.
“What you do that for?” she screamed at me.
“You won’t open your mouth about what happen to Mother or Father.”
“If I do, which I’m going do right now, what are you going do?”
Not thinking with my head, I was lead by my impulse. I grabbed my sword that was on the floor and walked towards Athena. I raised my sword and I was about to lower it to cut her black hair. She was screaming at me not to do it, when Father walked in.
“Theodus Koldimus lower that sword, don’t you dare raised it to your sister.”
I lower sword down, and put it by my side.
“Tonight after dinner, this sword incident will be discussed, I can’t let my own son raised sword against his sister, and the consequences will be severed, so you will be warned forehand.”
“Yes, Father.”
Father turned around revealing his blonde hair. He was wearing a white toga with gold stripes with an "S" inscribed on it.

“I will read assign it accordingly,” father said to me.
Father left the room, and after him Athena left, mad at me, and not speaking to me.
I grabbed my books that were on top of my bed and put them on my desk, and grabbed my parchment and started doing my assignments. I was in enough trouble already. Tomorrow not having the assign work would mean more trouble which I didn’t need.
As I was busy myself on my arithmetic assignment, a servant walked in.
“Master Koldimus, dinner is served, and if you please, your Father would like to have your sword.”
I took the sword that was lying on the floor and gave to him.
I walked out of my sleeping quarters into the tiled backroom, and into dining room with candles all around it. In the center of the dinner table, was served a deer with apples and grape wines. The servant pulled my chair next to my sister, and I sat down. The wine was served on silver cups after Father took his seat on the head of the table.
After dinner was over, the servant brought desert but I avoided it, and left the table.
I walked down the long corridor to the patio, and just sat down in a chair and relaxed. A few minutes later Father, Mother and my sister walked in.
“Let’s get this family meeting going about the actions today,” Father spoke.
“Me, and your Mother will decide on the consequences based upon the actions.”
“Athena, you may have the first word.”
“I went to Theodus room, to confront him about his actions on school today, that’s when he got agitated and mad, threw me on the floor.”
“She lies!” I cried.
“You will keep quiet, Theodus until you will be giving the chance to speak,” my mother told me.
“Then Father you saw the rest, he raised his sword against me,” Athena said.
“Very well, Theodus you have anything to say to your sister accusations?”
“It is very true I got agitated and threw my sister on the floor, and raised my sword against her but she shouldn’t be putting her nose on my business, she should keep away. Only you Father and Mother should be concerned if I get on trouble in school or not.”
“Very well, I heard the arguments from both parties your Mother and I will retire to our sleeping quarters, and will give you decision tomorrow after dinner.”
“Athena, you may retire to your sleeping quarter, Theodus you stay right here, I got speak to you.”
After Athena left, Father looked at me and said: “Theodus you being sleeping in classes already 3 times, be warned if Madame Jikalous sends me another paper saying that she will assign you a punishment, I will gladly accepted.”
“That parchment Madame Jikalous send me was warning that next time she finds you sleeping she will punishment for disobedient.”
“Understood, Theodus.”
“Yes, Father.”
As I leaving the patio, Father grabbed me and told me, "Don’t forget Madame Jikalous parchment," and gave it to me. I left to my sleeping quarter. I enter my room, blow my candle and drifted to sleep.
My name is Theodus Koldimus, I’m the son of a senator in the capital city-state of Kilmakaro in the country of Kershiew and a housewife.
I have long black curly hair, with green intimidating eyes, long wide nose, and big ears. I’m destined to take the place of my father in senatorial chamber, or take my grandfather general rank in Kershiew army.
There isn’t much I can’t tell you about myself besides that I study from dawn to dusk in central educational school in Kilmakaro. My family is powerful and influential in Kershiew politics and its military decisions. Finally, I have just started my studies to prepare to enter Kilmakaro University in three years or so.
The morning came, and the penetrating ray of sun enter my window.
I slowly rose out of my bed, put on my toga, and headed out of the door. I went by the dinner room, grab a piece of bread and headed to school.
I walked once again through the cobblestone streets, this time not avoiding the center of the town. I had to make to my first class, before the school crier order the doors to be closed.
I rushed through the streets bypass the markets and senatorial chambers, and rush into a building with columns all around with the inscription at the entrance that said Kilmakaro Central educational institute.
I took my seat in Monsieur Athan’s Kershiew history class.

“Can anybody tell me what started the Porsions conflict? How about you, Monsieur Koldimus?”
I looked down at my book, but I couldn’t remember anything about the conflict, I had only done my arithmetic assignments last night, and didn’t bother to do the rest them. Before I stood up, I looked at my history book trying to look up the conflict so I could remember but I couldn’t find it.
I stood up and said, “Monsieur Athan, to be truthful, I don’t remember what was the conflict about.”
“Theodus, did you bother to do your assign history homework?”
“No, Monsieur.”
“Very well, Monsieur Koldimus. Sit down. Your assignments will be the double of your regular ones tonight.”
As I sat down, Athena looked at me, with a mad face, when I looked at her she quickly turned away.
I couldn’t believe I was foolish enough not finish all of my assignments, Mother and Father if they find out they would be more agitated with me than they were last night.
After I sat down, Athena stood up and gave the response to Monsieur Athan question. I hate her so much.
After Athena sat down, Monsieur Athan continued his lesson and said, “As Madame Athena, said the Porsion conflict started as fight between Trushksview and other surrounding countries over the borders and its resources, we were spared of this bloodshed thanks to the Kant Mountains that touch the sky are in crucible and that prevent the invasion of foreign armies.”
“Well, that is the lesson for today, your assignment for tonight is to read over Porsion peace treaty, and write 2 parchments long about it not due tomorrow, but the day after.”
Monsieur Athan waived his hand and said loudly, “Class Dismiss.”
As the other students and I began to walk out, Monsieur Athan called to me, “Monsieur Koldimus, stay back.”
I stood near Monsieur Athan desk, waited for him to address me.
Monsieur Athan was one of the most respected and oldest teachers in the country. He had taught my Father, and my Mother, now he taught me and my sister. He was short but a build up man, with short white hair. Even though he short, he commanded respect from his pupils, and he didn’t let one rule infraction slip by.
A few minutes later, Monsieur Athan turned to me and said, “Theodus, since you didn’t do your assignment last night. I have an idea, you going write about the peace treaty of Porsion conflict 5 parchments long, and plus you going do write about the Porsion conflict it must not be less than 7 parchments long.”
“Yes, Monsieur Athan.”
I left quickly next to my class which was music/art with Madame Ceto. As I enter the classroom, the awards and painting commissions pinned on the walls denoted her prestige as one greatest painters and musicians in the country.
Afterward my next class was the principles of democracy with Monsieur Abidos. Abidos is one of my Father greatest friends, and plaque in top of his desk signed by my Father, named him one of the greatest promoter of the principle of democracy in our country.
I took my seat, and Monsieur Abidos orders us to write 2 parchments long, how do democracy have shape the history of our country. I didn’t know what to write, it was another book I didn’t bother to read.
I need finish the writing because that was only I going leave to lunch. So I started make up my writing so it could cover to 2 parchments long, I probably would get bad note for it, but I didn’t care.
I turned my writing in, and Monsieur Abidos remind me “the homework for tonight is the democratic convention, read it and be ready to talk to me about it.”
If that homework wasn’t bad enough, I already had a couple parchments due about the Porsion conflict.
I went outside of the central educational building. I was breathing fresh air for first time in the whole morning. I walked out to the Kodos food place, which was near the educational building, and order my lunch. Later Athena came running in with a friend, and said: “I’m going to the hills, I’m not returning.”

I wasn’t in the rolling green hills anymore there were dark tall menacing mountains around. I thought to myself, my teachers and father are going to kill me when I don’t show up to my last classes.
I walked along the green pasture, disoriented. I walked and walked trying to find my way back to Kilmakaro or at least Athena before dusk. I continued walk, I wander into a forest, and I knew it wasn’t the dark forest because its mythological force field would have repeal if I had try to enter.
As I walked to the forest, the snakes that lived on the trees looked at me, with penetrating eyes. I continued to walk without a sense of direction.
When I exited the forest, the sky was already turning purple, it must been hours since I been here, my Father must be looking for me already.
I walked through a rocky road, at the end there was an Old Sorcerer with long white hair, with a cane. I approached him and asked, “Old wise sorcerer, you know where I am?”
The Old Sorcerer looked at me up and down and said, “Young Koldimus, you are couple miles off of Kilmakaro. Perfects are looking for sister and you by orders of your Father. You want me guide you back to Kilmakaro, young Koldimus?”
“If you would be so kind, old man,” I said to him.
“Then followed me,” the Old Sorcerer told me.
The Old Sorcerer walked back down through the rocky road into the dark forest, I was right behind him. We walked the same path that I had walked before I got lost.
The sorcerer and I walked through the green path. The dark menacing mountains was in our background.
I followed the sorcerer into the cave, where I got in following my sister. It was couple minutes to walk the length of the cave, as we exit we were back into the rolling green hills near my villa.
As we walked near my villa, the sorcerer looked at me and said, “Now, I’m going turn you in, to the perfect.”
“Ok, thanks for guiding me back to town.”

The sorcerer said, “An Old Sorcerer with Senator Koldimus’s son. I found him lost near the forest.”
When the perfect heard those words, he came running to where we were and told him, “Thanks old man, you done Senator Koldimus a greet deed, he shall forever be thankful for it.”
As the perfect finished speaking to the Old Sorcerer, the sorcerer took his cane, pointed to his head, and disappeared.
The perfect took me, by the hands and grabbed me, and told me, “Stay right there.”
Perfect signal to the other perfects that he had found me, and the other perfects came running in and surround me. My sister was being hold by one of them.
The perfects walked us back to our villa, turned us in to our Father. Father said to them, “Thank you for your service.”
The perfects responded to him and said, “We are at your order, sir,” and they left.
Father closed the brown wood door of our Villa, and ordered us to the Patio. He calmly told us to take a chair, and waited for us to be seated to start screaming, and asked, “What the hell were you two thinking of disappearing like that?”
“Anybody cares to give me an explanation?” he asked us. “How about you Theo? It wouldn’t hurt you since you already in trouble. Your problems can’t get worse.”
I looked at Father and said, “Well, Athena came running in during lunch and told me she was going to the rolling green hills, so I followed to persuade her to come back. It was not my intentions to get lost, I got to the cave, I exited the wrong way, it was always my intentions to go back to class, Father.”
I continued to explain, “Father, I couldn’t let my sister just go alone into the hills, I’m suppose protect her.”
And then my father said, “You are supposed to protect her but not follow her foolish immature stunts. Athena, would you like to say anything before I punish you two?”
Athena responded, “Well, what can I say that Theo hadn’t said? It was foolish immature stunt. I do deserve punishment for it. Sorry for worrying Mother and you Father, isn’t going happen again.”
Father, trying to calm his anger, said, “Theo, Athena, tomorrow is the festival for the creation of our country. You are both allowed to go festival. But after it’s over you are to return back home. You aren’t allowed to move out of the villa except for school.”
Father continued to explain the punishment, “Also, you have some more chores besides your regular ones, tomorrow I will deliver to each one of you parchment with the list of your new chores. You are going write a letter at least 5 parchments long apologizing to me, your mother, your teachers, and the perfects for worrying them.”
Father then instructed, “Now go sleep without eating dinner or taking bath. Disappear out of my sight.”
I ran to my sleeping quarter, blow off my candle, and jumped to my bed and went to sleep.
